Florence, a city full of art

What to see if you visit Florence, since we know that not everyone can spend a month in the city to see it in detail. There are always things not to miss, in case we don’t get a chance to return to this beautiful city that seems to have stood stagnant in the XNUMX century. Are you joining the tour?

Since Florence is in Italy, residents of the European Union will only need the DNI to get around. The euro is also the official currency, and the schedule is the same as in Spain, so there will be minimal changes. There is little preparation for the trip, as the weather is usually good as well. The best months to visit Florence are those of spring and fall. Because in midsummer, the heat can stifle those who are not used to it.

This should be the beginning of a trip to Florence, the most famous square that has been the religious and spiritual center of the city. There you can see the Cathedral of Santa Maria de las Flores, with its famous bell tower or Giotto’s bell tower, and the Battisterio di San Giovanni, the oldest building in the city. They are all impressive both inside and out, so be sure to visit their rich interiors. This square is also home to the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo, which houses the original statues that were used to decorate the square.

La Cathedral de Florence It was completed in the XNUMX century and contains the tomb of Brunelleschi, the Italian architect who created this huge dome that sets this cathedral apart from others. This was his greatest task, to which he devoted many years, and the inside of this dome is also lavishly decorated with painted scenes of the Last Judgment. You can look inside and see the city from above. The Campanile is a bell tower that you can also climb to admire the view of the city.

Finally, in this square we see the Battisterio, a very old building in the same style as the other monuments of Florence, with a facade of white and green marble. Inside, we see beautiful Byzantine mosaics on the dome, which stand out for their golden colors.

It is definitely the image that is the most famous in the city, the one that represents it all over the world. It was created in 1345 and was the only one to survive World War II. It stands out for those hanging houses where jewelers and goldsmiths live today, following the craft tradition of the city.

La Galerie Uffizi This is the most visited museum in the city, not for nothing it houses one of the most famous collections of paintings in the world, among which, of course, stand out the paintings of the great artists of the Italian Renaissance. It has works by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael and Titian. These works are arranged chronologically and the museum has a very simple structure, so it is easy to visit. Keep in mind, however, that there are usually long lines, so the best way to avoid them is to book a tour or tickets online.
